University of Idaho
Landscape
architectural education at the University of Idaho
is enhanced by the ecology of the Inland Northwest
landscape and the academic diversity available at a
United States land grant institution. Set within the
scenic Palouse Hills ecoregion of the Columbia
Plateau and the Palouse watershed, the University of
Idaho provides a rich context for studying landscape
architecture with a focus on the bioregional
landscape and its importance to site design and land
planning. The University of Idaho with its diverse
programs provides the opportunity for students and
faculty to collaborate in teaching and scholarship
with programs in architecture, arts, humanities,
natural resources and the social sciences.
Beyond the Palouse
The Northwest and
Intermountain West provide extended opportunities
for student field trips to cities such as Seattle,
Portland and San Francisco, Boise and Salt Lake. The
department also offers an eleven-credit summer study
abroad program in Northern Italy at Villa Casa
