SHOP ORIENTATION All Technical Design Studio users must participate in a shop safety orientation before they are allowed access to the shop. These orientations are normally scheduled through your class instructor, though you may contact the shop director if you have somehow missed the boat. SUPERVISION AND ACCESS
1. The Technical Studio facility is available for supervised use by students currently enrolled in Art, Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture and VTD Programs. 2. The shop facility is available for use only during posted hours. This schedule of hours may change during vacations, summer break, etc. 3. All shop users must adhere to established safety standards and be willing to accept supervision from the shop proctors or the shop director. Shop users must acknowledge that failure to adhere to shop safety standards, or general shop policies may result in restricted shop usage. 4. All shop users agree to use the equipment and tools only for the purposes for which they are designed and intended. 5. All shop users agree to obtain authorization from the shop director or a shop proctor for special situations in which a tool must be borrowed for use outside the shop area. If tools are lost, damaged or not returned to the shop, the student will be charged for the lost tool. 6. All shop users agree to return all tools to the proper storage area and clean their shop work space after they have finished working in order to leave a clean work area for the next person. 7. All shop users agree to use the shop and equipment/tools only when a supervisor is present.
