Welcome to Virtual Technology & Design (VTD). VTD is
structured to provide the student with a unique opportunity to explore
and integrate virtual technology and spatial design. The
interdisciplinary approach to the student's development provides a rich
diversity of discipline exploration. This diversity helps prepares
the student for entry into many industries including serious games
(non-entertainment games), entertainment games, entertainment,
demonstrative evidence, visualization, simulations, education and
training (corporate, industrial etc.).

Virtual Technology & Design students were recently selected as a
semifinalist and honored in the 2007 International Science & Engineering
Visualization Challenge. The competition recognizes outstanding
achievements by scientists, engineers, visualization specialists, and
artists who are innovators in the use of visual media to promote the
understanding of research results and scientific phenomena. The
Visualization challenge was sponsored by the National Science Foundation
and the Journal of Science.
Inner-Visions focused on the lytic cycle of the Toxoplasma gondii
parasite found in nucleic cellular environments. The invasion cycle
which consists of attachment to the host cell, invasion, intracellular
replication and egress was the focus of the investigation/visualization.
Toxoplasma gondii infects all mammal and bird species worldwide, and can
lead to severe diseases and even death in utero and in individuals
compromised by AIDS or cancer.
