VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY & DESIGN
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS
All students applying for admission to the Junior Design Studio
of the Virtual Technology & Design program are required to
submit a portfolio of creative work. The portfolio
must be received by the close of business on Friday May 23,
2008.
Please submit your portfolio to one of the following locations:

FORMAT
All portfolios will conform to the following requirements:
- Only DVD or CDs will be accepted. Pen drives (USB) will
be accepted, however, we will not be able to return the drive to
you.
- The DVD/CD must comply with the Windows 2000 or XP Professional
Operating Systems.
- The information on the CD must be designed and organized in
a logical and creative fashion using applications/formats such
as Power Point, HTML, Flash or Director. If your portfolio is
created in a program that requires the host application to run
it, you should save the document(s) in a self running format.
For example, if you use Power Point to develop your portfolio,
save it as a Power Point Show and include this file on the
DVD/CD.
Do not assume we have the same host application as you.
- Image Formats should be of a common type including TGA, TIF,
BMP & JPG.
- Video Formats should be of a common type including AVI, MOV,
MPG, WMV, MP4. Codecs used for the AVI and MOV files should be of
the common type supported by the standard installations of Quick
Time and Microsoft Media Player. Test your files on a second
and third generic computer before completing your submission.
If we cannot open your file we cannot evaluate your work!

The length of the narrative should not exceed 1000 words.

- Images
- VTD244 projects, VTD346 (VTD299) Advanced Lighting and
Materials, VTD345 Advanced Modeling projects, design studio projects, images of creative
work such as game mods (levels, characters, props,
etc. ), sculpture, furniture, paintings, drawings,
graphic design, web page development ....
- Video
- VTD266 (VTD366) or VTD404 Animation projects, design studio projects,
creative cinematography, performance art, dance, theater,
etc....
- Web3D (VRML)
/ Torque Game Missions / EON
- VTD371 projects, VTD372 projects, design studio projects, other
creative Web3D/Torque/EON projects, etc....
- Written
- Poetry , short stories, essays, articles, plays, etc....
- Music
- Performance, composition, sound design and editing,
etc....
Optional
- Transcript from Non-University of Idaho Schools, including
GPA.
